The Avon Fog Machine

Clifton, Bristol

Gallery: Bristol

It's rare for fog to form in the Avon Gorge, let alone for it to form in the evening, so I was delighted to be able to witness it. The fog slowly drifted upstream from the mouth of the River Avon, sporadically enveloping Clifton Suspension Bridge and covering Bristol's city centre. Towards sunset the fog condensed and began to look more like an ethereal sea. I waited until after sunset to photograph the scene when the bridge was illuminated.
