Reelin' in the Years

Welcombe Mouth, North Devon

Gallery: Devon

I like to let my mind wander while looking for pictures. This section of rock on Welcombe Mouth Beach really interested me but it wasn't until I saw the picture appear on the camera that its shape made more sense. By this stage the light was getting dim so the long exposure blurred the motion of the water, making the base of the rocks reflective and look like the scales of some huge sea creature. Then I saw its eye and the shape of a dead prehistoric serpent trying to swim up the beach came to mind.
