Blackchurch Rock, North Devon

Gallery: Devon

After a bit of a hike along the North Devon coastal path I reached Mouth Mill and the prominent Blackchurch Rock. To give a sense of scale the rock measures about 30 metres tall, looming overhead while the sea crashes around it. Huge boulders litter the surrounding shore which made me feel quite small and insignificant, especially when confronted by a section of solid rock that had been bent in a smooth curve. I felt like I was in a land of giants.
