Cat's Back

Black Hill, Herefordshire

Gallery: Other places

While looking at OS maps of the Black Mountains I noticed a hill on the edge of the Brecon Beacons marked as Black Hill. From its position I thought it might provide good views and it was somewhere I hadn't heard of before. Following further research I found out it was also known as Cat's Back due to its shape in profile. I was keen to photograph it so when I made the trip there a short while later I was delighted to find its northern flank still bearing snow.
