De Walden Way

Worcestershire Beacon, Malvern Hills

Gallery: Other places

With mist shrouding the view south from the peak of Worcestershire Beacon I decided start my descent and photograph the view north towards the aptly named North Hill. Lady de Walden Drive runs part way through this picture. According to my research this drive was built in the 19th century as a carriageway for her use. While this might seem a bit extravagant, it is reported she did a lot to benefit Great Malvern, such as arranging for many of its trees to be planted.
