Maiden Moor, Lake District

Maiden of the Fells

I think the view from Maiden Moor and Catbells, overlooking Keswick, Derwent Water and the Skiddaw range, is one of the most impressive in the UK. After trekking up High Spy I slowly approached this view and sat for a while before the sun began to set. Amazing cloud shapes moved overhead and the light grew warmer and warmer. Eventually it turned a large cloud a beautiful golden colour; that was my moment.
