Sugar Loaf, Brecon Beacons

Sugar Dusted Loaf

I was very lucky with the weather during a short stay in the Brecon Beacons. It was September and humid daytime conditions meant that overnight clear skies allowed mist and fog to form in the valleys. I was absolutely delighted when I arrived at my chosen viewpoint early in the morning and found myself above a cloud inversion. At first I couldn't see any hilltops or peaks but as the sun broke over the horizon the fog started to lift and eventually reveal the top of Sugar Loaf. It's a relatively small peak compared to others in the Brecon Beacons but these conditions help give a sense of its dominance over the surrounding landscape.
