Approaching Crook Peak from Wavering Down is my favourite way to take in the views of the West Mendip Way. I first photographed the view from Wavering Down some years ago and at that time I focused on the limestone outcrops that dot the hillside. This time round I looked for other subjects and settled on this lone stunted Hawthorn tree growing on a slope.
