Magic Carpet Ride
This was my first visit to Gilling Down nature reserve near Compton Dundon. A break in between summer storms meant that the sky was varied and full of interest. I was also delighted to find this view as the hillside is full of wild flowers and looks out over a 180 degree vista of the Somerset Levels from Street to Somerton. Shortly after the sun disappeared behind yet another rain cloud the wispy clouds overhead turned peach and pink, their shapes echoing waves in the land below.
