Compton Moor, Somerset

Borderlines in Black and Gold

From the top of High Ham on the Somerset Levels, the view is of fields upon fields, lined with a variety of trees and hedges. On most days this scenery looks idyllic yet mundane in photographic terms. However, given a misty morning like this one, the fields turn into an ethereal white sheet which glows when lit by the morning sun. Using a telephoto lens to hone in on small segments of fields, my attention was drawn to this scene which looked superb in the golden light.
