Glastonbury Tor, Somerset
Vernal Avalon
The contrast between the elevation of Glastonbury Tor and the flatness of the Somerset Levels is best appreciated from up high. Using my drone I took this photo of Glastonbury Tor on a spring morning just after equinox. In the distance mist shrouds the landscape stretching south towards Compton Dundon. The sun was just above the horizon, high enough to highlight the trees and hedges but not flood the grassy fields with light. It was a superb morning to be outdoors.
