Snowdonia features some of the tallest peaks in Britain, as well as a wealth of history and legend. The National Park covers a large area, with the most popular sights confined to the north, near Snowdon and the Ogwen Valley.
My first memories of Snowdonia are from a family trip in my teens. I visited the peak of Snowdon by the railway and that was my first experience of being on a mountain. It took me many years to return, this time with my camera, to explore on foot and climb high to photograph the landscape from above. As with any mountainous environment, the weather here changes frequently and unpredictably. For every successful photograph there are two or three failed attempts, scuppered by hill fog or cloud.
